YouGov’s Survey of AHSNs Delivers Vote of Confidence for the AHSN NENC

21st November 2016

Results from a YouGov survey commissioned by NHS England show that the Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC) is successfully engaging with stakeholders, providing a responsive and accessible service that provides valued advice and support across the region.

The surveys of all 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) nationally, provided an opportunity for respondents from health, social care, higher education, local government, industry and the third sector, to feed back on their relationship with their local AHSN.

The AHSN NENC CEO Dr Seamus O’Neill said:

In both relative and absolute terms our returns are staggering. We have bettered our (excellent) results last year and, while trebling the volume of returns, we are and ahead of the national average in each category by an average of 16 percentage points.

We are creating a collaborative environment that is truly remarkable and spans health and social care, academia and industry. So we will not rest on our laurels. There are areas identified in the return around engagement, outreach and awareness of our plans in which we can do better. We will be looking hard at these as we do our business planning for the coming year.

Further reflections on the results of the survey are considered in a new blog post from Dr O’Neill.
