On the 16th May we are launching the AHSN NENC Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Strategy for the NENC. Discover what has been done to date regarding reduction of AF-related strokes and what is planned for the future. There is strong evidence that those with untreated AF or sub-optimally managed AF, an irregular heart rhythm condition, are at substantially higher risk of developing a stroke and that the outcome of an AF-related stroke is substantially worse than that of the general stroke population. It is estimated that 2.4% of the population in England have AF, without treatment 1 in 20 patients will have a stroke. By attending the event you will:

  • learn about the AF Strategy for NENC
  • learn about new and exciting projects designed to reduce AF-related strokes and hear about the key factors that drive successful change
  • understand barriers and lessons learned from implementation, helping you to avoid pitfalls in the future
  • learn more about what resources are available to support your work to reduce AF-related stroke.

The afternoon session is led by an external speaker, Philip Jones, who is an experienced, knowledgeable and energetic consultant, facilitator and coach. You will learn tools and techniques to help implement the AF Strategy with a dynamic and interactive session, “Principles to Practice,” focusing on the change management implications of AF work.

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
