Collaborating for Better Care Partnership

The Collaborating for Better Care Partnership was established as a Programme of work in partnership with the North East Quality Observatory Service (NEQOS) to promote both a culture of improvement and the capabilities within the region to deliver that improvement. The functions of the CfBCP have since been combined with the Patient Safety Collaborative as part of the AHSN’s new regional Quality Improvement approach.

The Collaborating for Better Care Partnership (CfBCP) was launched in Spring 2014 to:

  • Develop a regional understanding of the challenges to, and opportunities for, more effective implementation of NICE and other best practice guidance;
  • Build skills and knowledge in effective implementation of NICE and other best practice guidance;
  • Spread and facilitate best practice in effective implementation of NICE and other best practice guidance; and,
  • Champion leadership for effective implementation of NICE and other best practice guidance.

The work plan for 2015/16 included:

  • Mobilising the educational and training activities of the Collaborative in support of the AHSN Programmes
  • Developing mechanisms to facilitate engagement between industry (particularly telehealth)/private sector organisations and health care providers to share and spread the use of tools and technological innovations
  • Brokering and facilitation of engagement between Pharma and health care providers aligned to the emerging AHSN programmes
  • Mobilising a network of professionals

The CfBCP provided cross cutting support to all of the AHSN work programmes and hosted regular Masterclasses to promote and share expertise in effective implementation. Resources from the work of the CfBCP are available in the following areas:
