An online workshop for patients, family members and clinicians
Background
The NHS Long Term Plan highlights cardiovascular prevention and early diagnosis as key priorities for the NHS to improve the nation’s health. Familial hypercholesterolaemia is a genetic condition that is passed down through families, causing exceptionally high levels of cholesterol in your blood. Having familial hypercholesterolaemia means you are at a greater risk of getting heart and circulatory disease at an early age if it is left untreated.
Purpose of workshop
This workshop will explore the experience of patients, family members and clinicians of managing familial hypercholesterolaemia. We will go on to discuss what information, and in what format, patients and clinicians would find useful to:
- Understand familial hypercholesterolaemia and its impact on health
- Understand the benefits and risks of treatment options
- Agree informed, personalised treatment plans
This will be an interactive workshop, please come ready to discuss your experiences and views.
The workshop will be held via Zoom – after you have successfully registered you will be sent instructions on how to join.
