Patient Safety Collaborative, Health Improvement Programmes

After 15 years as a manager in the hospitality trade, and three children later, Liz joined the NHS and has been a senior manager in healthcare for the last 21 years.

For 11 of those years she worked in the Research Ethics Service (RES) in various roles including that of a Regional Manager responsible for implementation, in the East of England, of the national change management programme to make the RES fit for purpose. She then went on to be a Quality Assurance Manager, implementing a Quality Management System for RES and a Special Projects Manager, overseeing the development and implementation of several national projects, including proportionate review and transparency of research applications, which are still part of the RES today.

Since 2012, Liz has worked across Health Commissioning, Research Governance and Management, and Business Development within various Trusts and NHS organisations. Liz’s current role is as a Health Programme Manager with the AHSN NENC, supporting the implementation of Health Improvement projects in various health specialties, including the Patient Safety Collaborative Programmes across the region, to address specific health and service improvement issues.
