Innovation Forum members benefit from access to evaluation services to assess the commercial opportunity, or otherwise, of innovative concepts.

The team can assist with the establishment of an evidence base to improve the chance to secure funding, support the ongoing commercialisation and drive adoption of the innovation by NHS organisations.

If you have an innovative product or service that requires some evaluation work, please do get in touch. You can contact your AHSN NENC Innovation Lead directly, or email the team at [email protected]

Trust/Organisation: North East Ambulance Service

Overview: The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) have carried out an evaluation of the novel cleaning system EcoMist with support from the AHSN NENC.

Working with their AHSN NENC Innovation Manager Mark Taylor, NEAS were able to explore the impact of adding a novel cleaning system to current ambulance deep clean practice. Whilst there has been considerable research into the best way of cleaning hospitals, it was identified that less research had been applied to an ambulance and the team at NEAS were keen to explore what options were currently available, and how they performed.

Using funding from the AHSN NENC and support from both Mark and the wider AHSN NENC network, NEAS were able to evaluate the effectiveness of EcoMist by initially establishing a baseline level of ambulance cleanliness and then measuring cleanliness levels.
